A Remembrance Video of Mattie

Thank you for keeping Mattie's memory alive!

Dear Mattie Blog Readers,

It means a great deal to me that you take the time to write and to share your thoughts, feelings, and reflections on Mattie's battle and death. Your messages are very meaningful and help support me through very challenging times. I am forever grateful. As my readers know, I promised to write the blog for a year after Mattie's death, which would mean that I could technically have stopped writing on September 9, 2010. However, like my journey with grief there is so much that still needs to be processed and fortunately I have a willing support network still committed to reading. Therefore, the blog continues on. If I should find the need to stop writing, I assure you I will give you advanced notice. In the mean time, thank you for reading, thank you for having the courage to share this journey with me, and most importantly thank you for keeping Mattie's memory alive.

As Mattie would say, Ooga Booga (meaning, I LOVE YOU)! Vicki

Tonight's picture was taken in December of 2007. Again this was classic Mattie. Very eclectic if I do say so myself! Mattie was wearing a Santa hat, his Red Sox cap, sunglasses (inside!!), and was blowing his duck whistle which he got from a duck boat tour. It was a total look, but check out the shoes! On his right foot he was wearing one of his own shoes and on his left foot one of Peter's! He was clip clopping around our home this way and I felt it merited a photo.

Sunny had his second session of training today. Last week he had a hard time adjusting to all the dogs and the space, but this week he seemed calmer and more relaxed. He did a great job and he particularly loved the obstacle course they set up for the dogs. At heart Sunny loves to RUN! He does it was ease and grace. However, when Sunny returned home he threw up something awful and has been listless ever since. He was this way on Friday too, but had a good Saturday. So poor Sunny may have a visit to the vet in his future if I don't see improvement tomorrow. There are so many reasons why dogs vomit, and not having been a dog owner before, I have no idea which is the explanation!

Mattie & I would have been great friends! He is the kind of child that found his way to adventure, even a dressing event adventure. He makes crazy sock day and wearing clothes inside out seem mild compared to the variety of articles, he had on that day. So glad you snapped a picture!

Poor Sunny!!!! Please let me know how he is. Stories & pictures of Sunny & Indie are great to read!!!!!
